World Cup Finals 2012 – Import VS Domestic
The World Cup Finals – Import Vs Domestic event at Maryland International Raceway comes around every fall season and never fails to end the racing season with a bang. Now in it’s 17th year, The World Cup Final has grown each and every year. For 2012, racers from all over the East Coast as well as the West Coast came together to battle it out and put on a show for the 20,000 plus fans that were in attendance for the 3 day event. In addition to balls-to-the-wall drag racing, over 500 show cars filled the pit area for the World Cup Final show that featured their famous bikini contest and DJ battles.
This year, SNTRL’s Norman Midence was on the scene at MIR with his friend and fellow photographer, Frank Cervone, to get coverage of this epic event that had people talking about the match ups and record-breaking times. With cooler temperatures, and ideal drag racing condition, records are just waiting to be broken. This year was no different! Among the hundreds of racers, Dynamic Performance, TRP Racing Engines, Prayoonto Racing, Speed Factory, Carla Racing, Freed Engineering, Team Alpha, S2King and Real Street Performance to name a few were in attendance putting in that work for all the fans.
