Japan Street Life

Japan street life. Ever since the days of Tokyo Extreme Racer on my dreamcast, car life after dark in Japan is something that I was always fascinated with. So much so I ended up traveling to Japan a few times to get immersed in this culture a bit more. Looking at the photos JDM magazines and watching Option videos was just not enough. In NYC, car life is definitely a bit different as you would imagine. Our roads are shit, we don’t get most of the awesome cars that are out in Japan and if we do, most times they may be far from the excellent examples available in the land where they are called “domestics”. Because of this, being into Japanese cars, I often wonder what’s going on at this very moment in Japan. Is someone doing a top speed run on the Wangan? Is a group of VIP’d cars rollin’ through Roppongi? Is there a group of drifters terrorizing the streets? At some point or another, the answer to all of those questions is yes. Luckily with Japanese car life, I’ve found that imagination is not far from reality. This video is exactly what would come to mind if someone said to me: “street drifting in Japan.”

Much respect to Luke over at Maiham Media for this excellent film/edit.
