The end of the Xb

Thursday 20 December, 2012 | By Ken

All good things must come to an end.

After making rounds throughout the East Coast for the past couple of years, Darren and his Xb (Box) have earned a reputation for being able to always stand out from the crowd. It’s truly hard to miss the Murasaki purple Xb sitting low, thanks to the Accuair setup. Darren is one of those unique guys that sets his goals pretty high, and then proceeds to go and conquer them himself. A hands-on customizer,  if you know Darren, you know that if you need to find him, there is a very good chance he will be in his garage getting his hands dirty.  Taking a closer look at his Xb, its evident that plenty of planning and work went into the attention to detail. Earlier this year, in March, we featured Darren’s XB with his winter setup. You can check that older Feature by clicking here.

When we first Featured Darren’s Box, he was running his winter setup that still managed to break necks regularly, while attending numerous winter meets and get-togethers. Once the show season kicked into gear, Darren went with his more aggressive setup, the highlight being those beautiful white DPE R10’s complete with purple-accented hardware to go along with the heart-shaped bozo hang ring, custom Orataro passenger VIP table and 5 axis front lip among other subtle touches. A “last hurrah” of sorts, the 2012 show season was a busy one that had appearances at all the major events and meets in the Tri-State area. Darren’s Xb ended its career as one sexy Scion with a bang before the part out began. As sad as it may all sound, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Not one to stay idle, Darren’s next project is underway, and as you would expect, it’s all hands-on for Darren in his garage. We can’t divulge too much information besides the fact that this time around, Darren is going for the driver’s experience to go along with some eye-catching good looks. All motor, rear-wheel drive goodness, soon to terrorize a parking lot near you.

Stay tuned for the full Feature on Darren’s next project right here on www.sntrl.com. In the meantime, enjoy the last Feature of this infamous Xb which was shot by Zandro Zafra, also known as Zandbox Photo hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Enjoy!
