Volkswagen Show N Go
Volkswagen Show&Go 2012.
These kind of events are more of an experience than anything else. Every year, there’s something new that always surprises me or catches my eye. It’s the new wheels, engine swaps, and interiors that really make these cars stand out. And with the “low and slow” scene growing, the competition does the same. That’s why originality and uniqueness come as HUGE factors. But don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Just glancing at a car doesn’t tell you half of what’s put into it. I almost walked past a Mark II Jetta with a Mark IV R32 engine in it. This is what separates the VAG scene from the JDM, in my opinion. In the Japanese car scene, swaps are pretty usual and well-known. As where German cars will always surprise you by what’s in the bay. As for the track, it was dedicated to Audi’s and Volkswagens ONLY.. So to say the least, there was not much “Go’, but the show aspect made up for it. But it doesn’t stop there.. The swap meet, where various oem and aftermarket parts lay awaiting new owners to come snag ’em. This, to me, is one of the coolest parts of the show. People scattered around looking for that missing part or something new they might stumble upon. You never know what hidden treasures you’ll find. People walk out with exhausts around their necks, rolling wheels back to their cars, some even install the second they buy something! Overall, these events never disappoint and bring people together with the same passion.
