Umali Manhattan Meet Summer 2012

Friday 13 July, 2012 | By SNTRL

The NYC Takeover 2012.

From 53rd and 6th to Time Square to South Street Seaport, on this hot summer night, tourist and New Yorkers were caught staring in amazement and then grab their cellphones and cameras to snap photos. New York City is known for many things, and the Umali Manhattan Meet is one of those memorable nights, where hundreds of enthusiast come together to come hang out, eat and cruise with some of the most awesome backdrops the island of Manhattan has to offer.

The Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th have become a staple of New York City. There are literally hundreds of Halal vendor carts sprinkled all over, but none are as famous at the guys at 53rd and 6th. When the Umali Manhattan Meet converges, the result is incredible with just a sheer number of beautiful rides lining the city streets, in between the yellow cabs of course.

This is how the streets of Manhattan were looking at 10 past midnight. The Takeover. A few of SNTRL’s photographers were on the scene capturing another history-making event. If you ever happened to see any of the SNTRL Fam on the streets, be sure to say what’s up.

The night started off like most Friday nights. If you want to get choice parking during the Umali Meet, arriving a few hours before the actual meet is necessary. Dedicated enthusiast like Steve Florio, Kevin from DNK Auto and Rob from VRaceworks were there early enough to score the invaluable parking at the heart of the meet.

Even (RC) drift cars were in attendance!

Good eats…sweet rides…cool peeps.
