Taste of NYC
“You just got your asses whipped by a bunch of @*&^# NERDS!!”
That was the scene in New York last Saturday, as the Northeast Ruckus Doods took over the streets of NYC for over 12 hours, rumbling and running amok. A menace to society. Well not really. But it sure sounded that way as some of the sweetest builds from all along the East Coast and Canada came together for their annual tour of the Big Apple. Now in it’s third year, the ride through the boroughs gets larger and larger as the number of Honda Ruckus enthusiast continues to grow like wild fire.
What started out as 12 pioneers in it’s inaugural cruise has turned into 66 raucous Ruckus’, having tourist and New Yorker’s alike, pointing fingers, snapping Instagram videos and yelling in excitement. Rampant reports of Ruckus cruising around could be seen and heard, from Facebook status postings to radio stations like Hot97 stating that they “hear something big going down on the streets” while the sound of angry Ruckus’ cruise by. From Queens, to money-makin’ Manhattan to Brooklyn, the N.E.R.D.s made their mark once again. Ruckus die-hards from Connecticut, Binghamton, New York, Westchester County, Long Island, Philadelphia, Virginia, North Carolina and Canada came together to give NYC a Taste of their life.
A “Taste of NYC” isn’t just about cruising around all day and night. It’s about experiencing New York City, the melting pot of the world, and literally getting a taste of the different types of food. Dumplings, pizza, Gray’s Papaya hot dogs, Chicken and Rice….. A guy or girl can get really hungry riding around.
Synonymous with Dope Car Culture. It’s a Ruckus life. Shout-out to the originators and founders of the N.E.R.D.s and the Taste of NYC, Jay Martin (Makoa Scooter), Francis Mabutas (Eat Sleep Race), Dave Davera (Speedlounge), Kahlee Aguilar(Speedlounge), Siva Somya (USDM Freax/US VIP) and Brian Chin (Speedlounge/Chinzo Photo), people who have paved the way and continue to inspire many others to join in the fun.

Group shot for those that were able to stay out until 4am for the last leg of the cruise into Brooklyn.
Getting their Chicken and Rice fix at the infamous Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th.
Even Super Mario and Luigi live the Ruckus life.
They may sound and look intimidating while riding around, but these Ruckus dudes are some of the most down-to-earth, chill peeps you will ever meet.
John from Composimo Fabrications came all the way from North Carolina and brought his Honda Grom.
Even the ladies couldn’t get enough of the Rucks.
After a long day of riding all over NYC, then eating some grub, it was time to take the cruise through the “Crossroads of the World”.
Rollin’ Deep!
On our way to Brooklyn….
…for a nice relaxing way to end the night enjoying the New York City skyline.
