Tuner-Evolution Philly

When Tuner-Evolution first started bringing the import lifestyle to the masses seven years ago, it was an indoor show at the York Fairgrounds/Toyota Arena that brought its own flavor and theme. Showcasing some of the finest rides and the beautiful models from all around the country, Jay Martinez, the main man behind Tuner-Evolution decided to go with an outdoor format at the Sovereign Bank Stadium two years ago, but for the 2013 show season, Tuner-Evolution is going back to it’s roots and preparing for what should be one of the most exciting car shows this year when it comes the Greater Expo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 3, 2013.

Tuner-Evolution has outgrown it’s original stomping grounds in York, PA and is taking the big show to the big city. Philly has not had an indoor car show since 2007, and it was prime-time to bring the city what it has been missing for the past 6 years. After having been contacted by the good people over at the Greater Expo Center two years ago, regarding bringing the show to Philly, Jay Martinez took a ride down with his good friend, and Driftsylvania founder, Angel Garcia, last winter to lock-in the new venue for the 2013 show season.

SNTRL is proud to be the official Media sponsor for Tuner-Evolution Philadelphia this year. This is the first of a three-part Feature series, showcasing exclusive Tuner-Evolution vehicles and models that you can expect to see on August 3rd. The Features will give you a taste of the Tuner-Evolution experience.

This Feature shoot took place on one fine Spring Saturday morning in Philadelphia. The original intention was to have an EVO/STi, VIP, Euro and JDM featured for this shoot. But unfortunately, the original plans didn’t quite work out as planned with life circumstances sometimes getting in the way as you would expect. Some of those scheduled to show up, could not make it and Jay and his team had to roll with the punches and made adjustments.

The two main factors for this Feature shoot was having Dan Jenkins, the official Tuner-Evolution photographer who does about 80% of Tuner-Evolution’s photography work, and Kenny Cano along with his LosGoonies team taking care of putting together an epic video. The organization and scheduling of this shoot took a period of several months planning. Bringing together the media team, the right vehicles and the models, plus having the weather cooperate required the stars to fall into alignment. Well, not that drastic, but you can get an idea of what was needed in order for everything to go according to plan and as smooth as possible.

As we mentioned before, there were a few last minute “change-of-plans”. But thanks to proper networking and friends, the team at Tuner-Evolution was able to have Peter Nguyen with his Bippu “Awkward Fitment” Infiniti Q45 out of Allentown, PA, Bruno Felicia with his well-known AMS Autowerks EVO, and AJ from Xclusive:Alliance with his beautiful NSX come together with the rest of the crew at FDR Skate Park in Philadelphia. One of the most interesting parts of the day was the fact that most of those involved with the Feature shoot had met for the first time on this day, and although they were strangers at first, their mutual passion for this lifestyle brought each and everyone of them together and they all ended up having a blast.

The media team consisted of Photographers Dan Jenkins and Jason Heiner. The video team came from Kenny Cano’s Goon squad over at www.LosGoonies.com. On deck for them was Kenny himself and Justin Hoffman.

Starting at FDR Skate park, Dan got right to work on shooting AJ’s NSX first. AJ’s NSX is one of those rides that screams at you. Between the extremely clean lines, the arrest-me red and those Works, who wouldn’t fall in love with this NSX?

After AJ’s NSX, Dan got right to work on Bruno’s EVO. By now, you have likely seen this EVO either at meets, shows or through it’s viral photos that have been viewed throughout the world. Not a car to easily get tired of, Dan captured yet another few angles of awesome with Bruno’s EVO.

The Tuner-Evolution Philly models that we are Featuring on this first-part series is Emkay Vee and Diana Christina. Emkay Vee is a well–known model that reps Philadelphia to the fullest. So she’s right at home with being an exclusive model for Tuner-Evolution Philly.

For Emkay, it can be fun and games while working.

Diana Christina is also an exclusive Tuner-Evolution Philly model that calls Philly home. She reps her city hard and as one of the faces of Tuner-Evolution, she loves what she does.

After FDR park, the group headed down to the famous cheesesteak spot, Tony Luke’s to grab-a-bite and chill.  Once Peter arrived with VIP Q45, Dan got right to work, across the street from Tony Luke’s in the underpass of Interstate 95.

Tuner-Evolution is about bringing the industry together under one roof, and in one venue where show competitors and spectators alike experience something that is more than just a hobby. This is life. It’s not work for those that are here. It’s what we love to do. Get ready to experience the Tuner-Evolution life, on August 3rd, 2013 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mark your calendars!
