Freedom Moves: Paddock
From the grassroots, to street, to pro. It’s no secret, drifting is fun. A couple Saturdays ago Tim and I hit up the ever famous ETOWN for one of the most anticipated grass roots events of the year, Freedom Moves. Put together by the good dudes at Club Loose, the event has been taking place for a few years now. They, along with many familiar faces in the East Coast grassroots scene, Drift Alliance, Los Goonies, Flipzco, Faction Motorsports and more, were out in full force, getting sideways! Funny not funny thing about this particular Saturday, it was probably the hottest day of the entire summer. Track temps were easily over 100 degrees. After a summer with less than 5 90 degree days, this was a bit of a surprise. No matter! We were ready and hyped to capture the action as seen in part 1. I’m sure you spotted all of our instagram posts that weekend. If not, give us a follow @sntrl and check it out. Not only was there tons of drifting going on, some of the local top tier show cars came out to support the Los Goonies meet. My personal favorite car of the year, the white RE-Amemiya FD seen above also made an appearance. Here’s our coverage of the paddock and show cars. Enjoy!
What up Kenny?!
Varis Widebody X Varis Widebody. That Subie and that other subie, haha. Good to see you guys!
These 2! Love seeing these cars cruise around together.
The badasses at Faction Motorsports taking a breather.
What’s up with all the sick FD’s around lately?! Not that I’m complaining! This car had everyone’s head turning that day. Beautiful JDM drift car look on this. Loved all the choice parts and livery as well.
A scene straight out of Hot Version. Not 1 but 2 RE-Amemiya FD’s along with Pride’s infamous Skyline GTR34. While all 3 are beautiful builds, Andy’s white FD takes the top prize form me as favorite car of the summer. This build seemingly came out of no where and it’s so good. I must confess, I am a big fan of RE-Amemiya. One day I’ll build my very own touge monster. Ted and Andy’s FD’s are great examples of how much the scene in the east coast has progressed over the years. One looking like it’s a real life initial d car, while the other is ready to hit the Wangan or Tsukuba circuit. Nice work on these gents!
Once again I’d like to thank Club Loose and Los Goonies for having us. See you next time!
