Rotorfest 2012

Saturday 01 September, 2012 | By Ken

The premier Rotary-only event of the East Coast went down on August 19, 2012, and for all the rotary fans, Atco Raceway was the place to be on this hot summer Sunday. The threats of rain couldn’t damper the mood nor the excitement that had all the fans on their feet admiring the fine examples in the show area as well as cheering for their heroes in the stands while the rotary’s ripped it up in the 1/4 mile.  All out track monsters like Santiago Racing‘s Starlet and Gabriela Nicole’s RX-3 to Roan of RXparts.com‘s 9.5 @ 147mph pass in his street driven FD Rx7 from the NYC, had adrenaline rushing through the masses.

From OEM factory-rotary Mazda’s to swapped out Beetle’s, Toyota’s and Suzuki’s amongst other examples, rotaries were on display. Some of the cleanest, sexiest rides with the heart and soul of piston-less motor were present, both old school and new school. If you love rotaries, Rotorfest is the place to be.
