BULLIT

In recent times, there has been an explosion, thanks in large part to the internet, in the Flush, Fitment, Stance and VIP lifestyles. For many years, finding autos with the proper fitment and stance was a rarity usually reserved for the hardcore who knew what they were doing and willing to go to extreme measures to achieve the right setup. Meanwhile, the average Joe would settle for simply lowering their ride and throwing on a set of wheels. There were (and still are) many who didn’t take into account the offset, width, and tire size to go along with the right drop. Often times the result would be a car that had a unique look, but that didn’t necessarily mean it was a good one. Left unsupervised, these ‘Joes’ would continue their on destructive path of automotive modification and enter the realm of RICE. It became the norm to see improper setups, ‘performance’ decals, useless fart cans, and of course, everyones favorite ‘custom’ clear taillights. The standards were set low and accepted by the general mass.

Fast forward to the current decade, things are different. Inspirations around the world and the web have established a new standard. A new genre for the masses. Many enthusiasts all around the globe have listened, learned, emulated, and created new styles with their own rides. A move in the right direction!

BUT! In all honesty, when it comes to cars, we here at SNTRL have always lived the lifestyle that can be summed up in one word BULLIT. What the hell is that? BULLIT? The first thing you think when you hear the word Bullit is, well, a bullet. Bullets are designed to do one thing, start off with a bang and travel as fast as possible from point A to point B. Doesn’t matter what it looks like, the idea is always the same. This definition is synonymous with what we love – machines built for primarily one main purpose: to be driven at a highest possible velocity.

The terrain and direction do not matter. On the 1320, the togue, the highway, the dirt, the water, WHATEVER, the sky is the limit. Do it on one wheel, two, or even three, it doesn’t matter. Achieve your speed in a million dollar lambo or a balls to the wall unpainted stripped econobox. As long as its fast, its a BULLIT.

The history of Bullit can be drawn back to the old street racing days in the surrounding areas of NYC. Legendary locations such as Hunts Point, Zerega, Commerce, Flatlands, Greenpoint, and the various other spots both local and abroad. Repeat offenders would constantly hit up the test and tune sessions at E-town, Atco, and other 1320 tracks, we have had the hunger for speed.

A never-ending addiction for the true BULLIT aficionado, the quest for speed goes beyond age, culture or gender. Empty-pockets, cuts and bruises from banged up hands, sleepless nights under the hood, hours spent at local tuner shops and even occasionally a ticket or two are not uncommon. As ridiculous as that may sound, this is a reality for many. This is the BULLIT life, sacrifices made to quench the thirst, and feed the addiction for speed.

Before we finish here, lets get one thing straight, speed is not to be confused with power. Although monster power alone can open eyes, the combination of a proper suspension, the correct tire setup, power-to-weight, ideal tuning/power curve, gearing, AND power all contribute to the classification of what defines a BULLIT. Some examples can be clean and classy, and some might look like crap, but its the execution of what the build was meant to achieve…..SPEED.

BULLIT. No nonsense. Just Speed.
